Terms of Use

Effective November 17, 2026

These terms cover your use of the EarFret app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, and of EarFret Pro. EarFret is made by Jeff Hall ("I", "me"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms.

1. Apple's Standard EULA

EarFret is licensed to you, not sold, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These terms add to the Standard EULA; if the two conflict, the Standard EULA applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Standard EULA and may enforce it.

2. The free app and EarFret Pro

EarFret is free to download and includes a set of free features. EarFret Pro unlocks the rest of the app and is available in two ways:

Current prices are shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy, in your local currency. Purchases are made with your Apple Account, and EarFret Pro works on every iPhone, iPad and Mac signed in to that account. EarFret Pro supports Family Sharing.

3. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

4. Lifetime purchase

The lifetime option is a one-time purchase. It unlocks EarFret Pro for as long as the app is available, including Pro features added in future versions, with no further charge. It is not a subscription and does not renew.

5. Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, and I can't issue refunds directly. You can request one from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple decides refund requests under its own policies.

6. Using the app

7. Your data

How the app handles information is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: nothing is collected, and your progress lives on your devices and in your own iCloud.

8. Practice safely

EarFret is a practice tool. Take breaks, keep volumes at a comfortable level (especially with headphones) and stop if you feel pain. Pitch and rhythm detection is good but not perfect; feedback is meant to help you practise, not to grade you formally.

9. Changes and availability

I may update the app, add or change features, or, in rare cases, stop offering it. If I change these terms, I'll post the new version here with a new effective date; continuing to use the app after that means you accept the changes.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is", as described in the Standard EULA. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws named in the Standard EULA unless local consumer law says otherwise.
